The Governor's

Welcome to our section of the Manorfield Infant & Nursery website.

The Governing Body is a statutory body which serves to represent the views of respective stakeholders.  It includes past and present parents, interested members of the community and school staff. The Governing Body meets six times a year to review and challenge the school as a critical friend. There are a number of additional  sub committees which work on specific matters of school improvement, monitoring pupil achievements, standards as well as ensuring value for money.

The governors are supportive of the hard working members of staff at school and are proud of the many achievements of the children in school. In 2010 the school was judged, by OFSTED to be ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ in most areas. More recently the nursery, in an Early Years OFSTED 2013 was judged to be ‘Outstanding’. The Governors visit the school regularly to see for themselves the progress the children are making and the standard of teaching taking place in the classroom.

Being a Governor at Manorfield is an interesting and rewarding role and we are always looking for new members of the school community with skills to offer. If you are interested in becoming a Governor or associate Governor please contact the Chair of Governors  or the school for further information or look on the Kirklees website for further information.
